Coronavirus - Tips to Keep Your Neighbourhood Healthy
Coronavirus fear has officially hit the UAE, with the Ministry of Education announcing the other day that all schools in the country will be closed for 4 weeks as a precautionary method. There is now a total of 27 reported cases in the UAE, and as seen in other parts of the world this number can rise dramatically in a short period of time.
So, whilst all children are home-bound, what can we do to make sure our communities remain healthy and safe? We've gathered a few tips to help you, your family and your neighbours in dealing with Coronavirus.
Stay Informed
To make sure you have the most up-to-date information, we recommend following @MOHAPUAE on twitter or the MOH.GOV website. This will provide you with accurate information in the midst of many rumors circulating on social media in the UAE.
Monitor Social Activities for Children
With school being closed, parents will be desperate to find physical and social activities for their children to get involved in. Taking the kids to a park or to the pool can be great, however it's important to monitor symptoms shown by other children nearby to prevent further spreading.
Practice Proper Hygiene
Yes, we've gone through this a million times since our youth, but are we doing all the right things? Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, as well as carrying a small bottle of sanitizer are go-to precautions, whilst it's also suggested to avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Communicate with Neighbours
With the virus only being several months old, many are still skeptical of its full potential. Others however are a little more panic-stricken, so it is helpful to reach out to any neighbours expressing any degree of distress. Hayi will be useful in communicating with neighbours (at a distance) and discussing any updates or queries surrounding (COVID-19). If you have any suggestions on ways that Hayi can help your community, please reach out to us at admin@hayi.app.
